How Can We Be Part of Your Special Day?

Every couple is different, and so is every wedding. Umshado Lento therefore offers different services depending on what you and your partner need.

The Ceremony

For couples who want a meaningful and personalised wedding ceremony.

We work with you to understand your story, preferences and vision so that your ceremony feels authentic to who you are as a couple.

This service focuses specifically on conducting your wedding ceremony and does not include legal marriage signing or solemnisation.

Legal Marriage Service

For couples who require assistance with the legal solemnisation of their marriage without requiring us to conduct a wedding ceremony.

The service may include preparation of the marriage register, relevant document checks and certification, solemnisation and signing, marriage documentation and submission to the Department of Home Affairs where applicable.

We guide you through the process and explain what is required according to your circumstances.

This service does not include conducting a wedding ceremony.

The MC Experience

Your reception deserves someone who can do more than simply announce the next item on the programme.

The MC Experience provides professional guidance throughout your celebration, helping with programme flow, time management, guest engagement and those important moments that make your wedding memorable.

Our goal is to help create an atmosphere where you and your guests can enjoy the celebration while the programme continues to move smoothly.

The Umshado Lento Experience

For couples looking for a more comprehensive experience, this brings together the relevant Umshado Lento services according to your wedding and agreed booking.

Depending on your requirements, this may include marriage preparation and document support, premarital counselling, a personalised wedding ceremony, legal marriage services and participation in your reception.

It is designed for couples who want more than an individual service—they want us to walk the journey with them.

How It Works

From Enquiry to “I Do”

We want the process of working with Umshado Lento to be as clear and straightforward as possible.

1. Tell Us About Your Wedding
Start by requesting a quote or contacting us via WhatsApp. Tell us your intended date, location and the type of service you’re looking for.

2. We Review Your Requirements
Our team reviews the information you’ve provided, including availability for your date.

3. Receive Your Estimate
If we’re able to assist, we’ll prepare an estimate based on your requirements. Receiving an estimate does not automatically reserve your date.

4. Confirm Your Booking
Once you decide to proceed, you’ll be guided through acceptance and invoicing. For standard advance bookings, a 50% booking deposit is required to secure your booking. Bookings made within 14 days of the service date require full payment.

5. Welcome to Umshado Lento
Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive the relevant Welcome Pack and information you need to begin preparing.

6. We Prepare Together
Depending on your service, this may include ceremony customisation, marriage information and documentation, counselling, programme planning or final wedding logistics.

7. Your Moment Arrives
With the preparation complete, it’s time to focus on what really matters—celebrating your love and enjoying your special day.

Marriage Officer • Wedding Officiant • MC

Thabo August is the Marriage Officer and the person behind the Umshado Lento experience.

With a background in pastoral ministry, counselling and public speaking, Thabo brings warmth, professionalism and a personal approach to every couple he serves.

He believes that no two love stories are the same—and therefore no two wedding experiences need to feel exactly the same.

His approach begins with listening. Understanding the couple, their story and what matters to them creates the foundation for an experience that feels authentic, meaningful and memorable.

Whether he is conducting a personalised wedding ceremony, assisting a couple through the legal marriage process or standing behind the microphone as MC at their celebration, the goal remains the same:
